ALBERT HENRY WHITE age 77 of Arkport, New York, died suddenly Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Noyes/UR Medical Center in Dansville, New York. Al was born the son of William and Gladys (Harrington) White on October 31, 1947, in Hornell, New York.  He was a veteran of the United States Navy. Al married the love of his life, Janet Rex, in 1969.

Al enjoyed many careers. He was an engineer for the Erie-Lackawanna (Conrail) Railroad Company. Then he went into law enforcement and was the Chief of Police in Almond. After receiving his K-9 Handlers Certification in Buffalo, NY, Al and his new partner, Rex, continued their law enforcement career in Arkport, Canaseraga and Hornellsville.  He finished his career as a heavy equipment operator for the DEC in Naples. He was an auctioneer for many local non-profits. He was a great singer and was especially known for singing "The Auctioneer" song.  He enjoyed playing cards, gambling, hunting, fishing, hiking and most of all spending time with his family.

Al is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Janet, Son Todd (Shelly) White Sr. of Dalton, Grandchildren Carrie White of Mount Morris and Todd "T.J." (Kaitlyn) White Jr. of Dalton and Great Grandson Robert Henry White of Dalton.  Siblings Virginia Johnson, George White, Carol Behn and Ken (Dot) White.  Many nieces, nephews and dear and loving friends.  He was predeceased by his parents William and Gladys White, siblings Norma Schwartz, Bill White, Mary Jeffers, Rose Allen and Clarence White.
