ANNE L. LEYERLE passed away peacefully on April 24, 2013 at age 88. She had been a resident at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mt. Morris, NY for the past two years and eight months. Anne has been a resident of Mt. Morris for the past thirty-eight years, and retired twenty-three years ago from the York Central Schools as an Elementary music teacher. After her retirement, she was active as a part-time piano accompanist for her husband, William's voice classes at SUNY-Geneseo School of the Arts. She had a wide-range of teaching experience during her career, in the states of Missouri, Illinois, Virginia, Washington, California, New York and in Zurich, Switzerland at the American International School. In these positions, she taught a variety of subjects, at different times, including English, French, music, women's physical education and general studies. She held B.A. and B.S in Education degrees from the Southeast Missouri State College (Now, University), and did additional graduate studies at the die Akademie fur Musik und darstellende Kunst in Vienna, Austria, and Educational Television at San Diego State College. Before completing her thesis, she was hired as director of the Classical Music Radio Station at KOGO, a Time-Life tv/radio station in San Diego.

In addition to the activities list, above, she co-edited three volumes of song anthologies with her husband, for Leyerle Publication, which are still used nationally.

Anne's surviving relatives include William her husband of 61 years William D: A niece Anne Morrell of Chula Vista, California: and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Proffer of St. Louis, a brother Howard K. Proffer of San Diego and a sister Carol H. Barham of St. Louis

Anne's teaching and musical activities have influence a large number of students, as well as her many friends and loving family. There will be no immediate memorial service for her, but one is anticipated in the near future. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements by the JOHN W.
