Nunda, NY – Beverly Ann (Palmer) Sanford passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones, following a long illness with cancer.  She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

Bev was born on August 14, 1943 to Robert and Velma (Barney) Palmer. She married Sherman Sanford in 1961. She worked in two family businesses with her husband, as well as served in many roles as an active member of the Nunda United Methodist Church for over 50 y ears, including head of Sunday School, running a local free meal program, and holding office in the United Methodist Women. She also fundraised for the American Red Cross and the March of Dimes, as well as chaired the Nunda Council of Churches for over 30 years. Beverly was beautiful inside and out, hard-working, and generous, extending kindness and compassion to everyone.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Sherman, and two children, Michael (Betsy) Sanford and Carmen (Mark) Vianese.  Also surviving are her six grandchildren: Rachael (Stefan) Zoller, Isaiah (Alec Rigdon) Vianese, Connor (Emily) Sanford, Evan (Jamie) Vianese, Saani Bev Sanford, and Jyoti (Troy Davis) Sanford; six great-grandchildren: Wade and Ford Zoller, Kenzington Sanford, Ferryn and Bode Vianese, and Jasmine Davis; three sisters: Patricia Tallman-Lyman, Faith (Charles) Hagan, Nancy (Howard) Perrine; brothers-in-law, Adrian (Noreen) and Dale (Debbie) Sanford; sister-in-law: Roberta (David) Richardson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Velma Palmer; her parents-in-law: Ward and Fannie Sanford; her brothers-in-law: Raymond Tallman and Rev. Craig Lyman.

Calling hours will be held at the Nunda United Methodist Church on December 29th, 2021 from 12 noon to 2 PM, followed immediately by her celebration of life.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Nunda United Methodist Church or the Nunda U.M.W
