C. Marie Bishop (Martello) July 30 2018, at age 76, of Mt. Morris, NY. Predeceased by her parents, Angeline and Domenick, and brother Peter. She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Bob Bishop; her children Mark Ebersole of Mt. Morris, Sabra (Cindy) Ebersole of Chicago IL, Michael (Michaela) Bishop of Ithaca NY, and Peter (Jill) Bishop of Mt. Morris; grandchildren Rachel King, Hailey Fender, Megan Ebersole, and Anthony Bishop; great-grandchildren Savannah, Emma, and Gianna; Brother Domenick (Ann) Martello of Ossian NY. Many nieces and nephews near and far; and many friends and extended family members.


Marie was the matriarch of her family who will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched. She lived her life by caring for and sharing with her family and friends. Marie was a life long resident of Mt. Morris with deep ties to the local community, who loved the village and town in which she  lived. She had a smile for everyone she met and magnetism that drew people close to her. Marie was a fierce advocate for high quality education, having attended Mt. Morris Central School then SUNY Brockport where she earned a bachelors degree and teaching credential. She was active in the civic life of the community, serving as Village Justice, writing a local column for the Clarion, and volunteering with many associations including Mt. Morris Historical Society. She was the sweetest, most loving woman in the world who taught kindness by her own example and sacrificed much to always put family first.


Family and friends are invited to call Friday August 3, from 4-8pm at the John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel Street (Route 408). Mt. Morris. A funeral mass will be held Saturday August 4 at 10 am at St. Patrick's Church, 46 Stanley St. Mt. Morris. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt.
