CARRIE "Kay" (SARDINIA) TARAVELLA age 89 of Rochester formerly of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday August 26, 2014 at Strong Memorial in Rochester, NY. She was born the daughter of Benedict and Rose (Passamonte) Sardinia on April 29, 1925 in Mount Morris, NY. Prior to her retirement she was employed at the Library at SUNY Cortland. She had also worked for Rochester Telephone as an operator. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and volunteer at the Livingston County Board of Elections.

She is survived by 4 children Anthony (Lynette) Taravella of Las Vegas, NV, Benedict (Nina) Taravella of Spring Valley, CA, Anne (Francis) McKenna of Rochester and Rosie (Scott Goodrich) Taravella of Skaneateles. 7 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandson. Sister Frances Barone of Rochester and brother Thomas (Marcia) Sardinia of Hamburg. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Charles and Brother and Sister-in-law Spencer & Mary Sardinia and Brother-in-law Joseph Barone. The family would like to thank the staff of 4 Reservoir at St. John's Home in Rochester for 6 years of care.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4-8 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris where prayers will be said Wednesday at 9:30 am followed by a funeral mass at St. Patrick's Church at 10 am.
