CHRISTINE M. ANDERSON

"Angels walk among us. Sometimes the only things we may not see are the wings upon their backs." (Molly Friedenfeld) Ours returned to heaven on May 1, 2025, at the age of 65. Christine Marie Anderson was a dearly loved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was born on February 11, 1960, in Dansville, New York to the late Frances and Patrick DioGuardi.

Christine was a strong, independent woman, full of life, who cherished her family above all else. She recently moved to Florida in 2023 to be able to spend more time with her daughter, grandchildren, and new great granddaughter.  Those unforgettable moments having BBQs, shooting off fireworks, and girls' days getting lunch and pedicures will forever be treasured.  She was a deeply caring woman who was there for anyone who needed her and would do anything to help anyone she could. She most recently began volunteering at the local Good Will and feeding the homeless with the church in her community. She felt so good being able to give back.

Her family remembers her fondly for her kind heart and her passion for cooking for her loved ones, from making homemade sauce and meatballs to chocolate chips cookies and homemade jam.  Her home was always warm and tidy, food outstanding, and her yard and garden adorned by plants and vegetables bearing tribute to her remarkable green thumb.  Her love for nature and animals should also be mentioned. She loved her two dogs, Season and Deuce, more than anyone could imagine. Seeing the baby blue birds fly out of the tiny house in her backyard brought her indescribable pride and joy.  Sunday mornings listening to Frank Sinatra followed by watching her yell at the Buffalo Bills on TV were the highlight of the weekends.

Christine was preceded in death by Hailey Marble (daughter), Joseph DioGuardi (brother), Frances and Patrick DioGuardi (parents), and Thomas Anderson (spouse.) She is survived by her loving family, including her daughter, Heather Hill (Maurice); grandchildren, Angelique and Maurice Hill; great granddaughter, Ailiana Lewis; siblings, Sarah Sickles (Jim), Patrick DioGuardi (Kim), Sam DioGuardi (Darcia), Leah Schaffer (Bruce), Franny, Karen (Jerry); fiancé, Wayne Barwald; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Sometimes the final act of love is to understand that the pain of seeing our loved ones travel their final trip is also the most merciful act of God for someone who is suffering. May she now rest in eternal peace.  "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."  2 Corinthians 4:17-18.

To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread, calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at John W. Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel Street (Route 408), Mt. Morris, NY from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Services will begin promptly at 11:00 am followed by her burial at Mt.
