David A. Augustus

DAVID A. AUGUSTUS age 76 of Castile, New York formerly of Mount Morris, died on Friday September 25, 2026 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. He was born the son of Richard and Margaret (Gracia) Augustus on December 4, 1949 in Watertown, New York. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1971. He worked for over 30 years at Wegman’s Warehouse in Rochester having retired in 2006. He married Christine (Tolle) Murphy on August 13, 2015. David's favorite pastimes were hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of over 11 years Christine, his children Brian Augustus of Mount Morris, Janna (Terry) O’Brien of Geneseo, Zach (Darlene) Dunham of Kentucky, Sarah Schurr of Warsaw, Rebecca (Peter) Connolly of Castile and Joshua (Serenity) Murphy of Webster, 13 Grandchildren, Sister Kathy Coffey and Brother Sam (Lisa) D’Agostino Sr. both of Mount Morris. Nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his father Richard Augustus, mother Margaret D’Agostino and brother Joseph Williams. 

No prior calling, to honor David’s wishes. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
