DOROTHY V. SLIKER age 92 of Leicester, New York died peacefully on Tuesday May 6, 2025 at the Edna Tina Wilson Living Center in Greece. She was born the daughter of Arthur and Gertrude (Friess) Vandereedt on January 1, 1933 in Glen Cove, New York. She lived in Long Island where she graduated from Hempstead High School.  She attended Geneseo State College for 1 year the she married John C. Sliker on July 4, 1953 and moved to Perry where she worked at the Perry Knitting Mill running the bookkeeping machine. In 1959 she moved to Leicester and joined the Leicester Presbyterian Church in 1962 where she taught Sunday School.  She became an elder of the Church and Clerk of the Church session, Superintendent of Sunday School and was involved in the church women's group, property and worship committees.  Prior to her retirement in 1988 she worked as a teacher's aide at the Charles G. May Educational Center in Mount Morris for 18 years.

She is survived by her 2 Children Robert (Lisa) Sliker of Greece and Sandra (Mark) Walek of North Carolina. 3 Grandchildren Robert (Laura) Sliker of Rochester, Daryl (special friend Elon Craig) Walek and Rene (Chris) Shepard both of North Carolina. 2 great grandchildren Zelda and Theodore Sheppard both of North Carolina. Many nieces and nephews including Linda Burdick of Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years John C. Sliker and her parents Arthur and Gertrude Vandereedt.

No Prior Calling. Graveside services at Leicester Cemetery to be held Friday June 20th at 11am.
