DOROTHY R. SMITH age 94 of Nunda, NY, died peacefully on Friday May 19, 2023 at her home, with her family by her side. She was born to Michael and Catherine (Becker) Reding on January 1, 1929 in Sheldon, NY, where she had a happy childhood. She married Stephen Smith (born 03/15/1926, died 01/21/2011) on May 31, 1948 and together they had 8 children, 32 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved words, and knitting, and baking, and spending time with her family. She was smart and funny, with an iron will and a strong faith, and what she lacked in height, she made up for in beauty and class. Her smile could light up a room, and her memory will do the same.

No prior calling. Funeral Mass for Dorothy (and Stephen) will be held on Saturday, June 10 at 10 am at Holy Angels Church in Nunda, NY.  Interment immediately following at St. Mary's Cemetery in Geneseo, NY.  In lieu of flowers, Dorothy requested donations to St Luke the Evangelist Parish, 13 North St, Geneseo, NY 14454.  JOHN W.
