EDMUND "ED" C. BETTER age 96 of Florida formerly of Mount Morris, New York, died peacefully on Tuesday February 16, 2021 in Florida.  He was born the son of William and Clara (Tooker) Better on February 2, 1925 in Mount Morris, New York.  He served in the Army during World War II from 1943 until 1947 having been in action at Okinawa with the 1685 ^th Engineering Combat Battalion.  When he returned to Mount Morris he worked as a carpenter, then he owned and operated the Yankee Trader Antiques, the Ridge Restaurant and later the Yankee Loft until his retirement.  His love of Antique's, Golfing, Bowling and Painting continued with Ed through his retirement years.

He is survived by his 2 Sons Gary (Tammy) Better of Mount Morris and Daniel Better and his roommate AJ of Conesus Lake.  Grandson Shawn Better of Mount Morris.  His loving and caring "partner" of over 30 years Andrea Chastek Thompson and her children Darcee Thompson and Bret (Karen) Thompson and Grandson Jared Thompson all of Florida.  Nephew Richard "Dick" Provino of Mount Morris.  Several great nieces, nephews and many dear and loving friends.  He was predeceased by his wife Patricia Better in 1982, brother Bill Better and 2 sisters Jean Provino and Virginia O'Brien.
