Ellen Marie Barrett age 94 of Avon, and formerly of Nunda and Leicester died Thursday February 17, 2022 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY.  Ellen was born the daughter of the late Merrill A. and Marian (Woeller) Boyd on November 29, 1927 in the Town of Covington, NY.  She married John Emerson Barrett on July 1, 1947 who predeceased her on May 7, 2010 after just shy of 63 years of marriage.  Prior to her retirement she had been employed at the former T. B. Hospital and then for the Livingston County Nursing Home on Murray Hill in Mt. Morris as a House Keeper for several years, and was a member of The Central Presbyterian Church in Avon.

Besides her parents and her husband John, she is also predeceased by her sister Doris Barrett, brothers-in-law William Barrett and Stanley Rodgers and sister-in-law Ruth Boyd.  She is survived 4 children, Alice (Walter) Maylin of Geneseo, Kay (Roger) Rathburn of Piffard, Linda Loe of Florida and James (Alice) Barrett of Piffard. 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. 2 sisters Charlotte Olson and Gladys Rodgers both of Geneseo and a brother, William Boyd of Pavilion, several nieces and nephews.

No prior calling hours.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Leicester Cemetery next to her husband John.  Arrangements are by the JOHN W.
