FRANCIS E. STANLEY age 89 of 4750 Scottsburg Road, Groveland, died peacefully Thursday August 6, 2015 at his in home. He was born the son of Fred and Ethel (Ingram) Stanley on July 20, 1926 in Sonyea, NY. He was a Veteran of World War II from 1944 to 1946. Prior to his retirement in 1981 he was employed as a Stationary Engineer at Craig Colony in Sonyea for over 33 years. He was a member of the Sparta First Presbyterian Church in Groveland, a life member of the Dansville VFW, Hally-Allen American Legion Post 1341 in Sonyea, Mount Morris Masonic Lodge # 122 and a 65 year member of the Groveland Fire Department having served as Past chief in 1957-58 and 1960. He married Barbara Mann Panek on June 21, 1997.

He is survived by his wife Barbara, 3 children Donna (Stephen) Zabrocki of Geneseo, Wayne (Dawn) Stanley of Dansville and James (Tanya) Stanley of West Sparta. 8 Step Children. 12 Grandchildren, 19 Great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. 16 Step Grandchildren and 12 Step Great Grandchildren. Sister-in-law Marjorie Stanley of Groveland. Many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia in 1997 and granddaughter Katie in 2009

Friends may call Friday from 3-7 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris where Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 am. The Reverend David Hotchkiss officiating. Interment with military honors at Oaklawn Cemetery, West Sparta on Monday at 11 am. Memorials may be made to the Mount Morris Masonic Lodge #122.
