George Frederick Weipert of Batavia, formerly of Mt. Morris at age 82, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 in Batavia, NY. He was born on August 24 1935 the son of George and Irene (Higgens) Weipert in Warsaw, New York. George graduated from Mount Morris Central School in 1952. After High School he enlisted and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was discharged ranked as an SP3. Later he was employed by New York State Department of Corrections where he worked as a correctional officer for 32 years. Once retired he moved to Florida where he enjoyed playing golf. George later moved to Batavia, NY with his longtime partner Marilyn so both could be near their families.


Predeceased by his parents George & Irene Weipert and son Marty Weipert. He is survived by his long time partner Marilyn Reber & family, children Ted Weipert of San Diego, CA, Lori, Paul (Lynn), and Christine Weipert all of Mt. Morris, NY & David Weipert of Las Vegas, NV, sister Donna (Tom Rankin) of Akron, NY, Grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews.


Friends may call Saturday May 19 from 11 am to 1 pm at the John Martin Funeral Home, 37 Chapel Street (Route 408)Mt. Morris, NY where a life celebration service will be held at 1pm. Interment to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery with full military honors.
