Helen Irene (Wyatt) Childs.  She was born on April 10th, 1948 to William and Eleanor Wyatt from Springwater NY. Helen married Dick Childs in May of 1966 and they raised two children together.  Their daughter Linda Childs Mehlenbacher (Karen) and their son Douglas Childs (Michelle).  She also has several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Living in the Sparta area all of her life, she kept quite busy with lots of activities!  From gardening, canning, quilting, crocheting, to remodeling their farm house.  She was very ambitious.  Not to mention, she also was an amazing cook!

Helen went to the Continental School of Beauty and opened a beauty salon in the 1970's.  She also worked seasonal jobs at Champion in Livonia and Kelly Brothers Nursery in Dansville.  The job she loved the most was staying home and taking care of her family.

Helen loved antiques and along with Dick, did a lot of bottle digging together.  She also went to auctions buying and refinishing old furniture. She was quite a busy lady until cancer knocked her down a few times.  Her dogs Peanut and Willy kept her going!  Helen was loved and will be missed by all that knew her!
