Isabel E. Cicero died January 31, 2024 at age 96.  Predeceased by beloved husband, James W. Cicero, mother, and siblings.  Survived by children, Jay Cicero (fiancée, Maureen Mitchell), Catherine Cicero, Robert (Eugenia) Cicero, Richard (Kelly) Cicero, Kimberly Austen, Jill Cicero, Paul Cicero (Ernestine Shumaker), Thomas (Terri) Cicero, Anne-Marie Allen, and "adopted" son, James (Jill) McCart; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many dear friends.  Isabel was born in New York City and raised in Pennsylvania.  She left home for Alfred University at age 17 to obtain an accelerated nursing degree as part of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II. However, the war ended before she was assigned to a hospital in one of the theaters of war, and she completed her clinical training at hospitals in Corning, Philadelphia, Mt. Morris, and Willard.  During her training at the Mt. Morris Tuberculosis Hospital, she met the love of her life, James Cicero.  They raised their nine children in Leicester, where she resided for over 70 years.  She continued her nursing career for several decades and in 1987 founded her business, Health and Wellness Referral Services.  In 1991, she temporarily stepped away from the day-to-day management of the agency to care for her husband, James, who died in 1993, and in 2003 she permanently retired.  She spent her remaining years caring for and spoiling all her family–the most important thing in her life.  In 2022, Isabel was awarded an honorary Bachelor of Science by Alfred University in recognition of her accomplishments and service to her profession.

Friends may call Friday, February 16, from 4-7 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 17, at St. Thomas-Aquinas Church, 175 Main Street (Route 20A & 39) in Leicester at 10 am, The Reverend Sylvester Bioh officiating.  Interment in Leicester Cemetery immediately following Mass.

There will be a gathering and luncheon for friends and family after Mass at York United Presbyterian Church, 2662 Main Street, York, NY  14592
