JAMES R. "Wa-Ta" CROMWELL age 79 of 2195 Route 436, Nunda, New York, died suddenly Tuesday December 19, 2017 at his home. He was born the son of Chester and Mabel (Harrington) Cromwell on October 30, 1938 in Nunda, NY. He was a life long resident of Nunda. He was a veteran of Navy from 1957 to 1961. He married Linda Clary on July 28, 1990. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a security officer for Delphi in Henrietta and had previously work security at Eastman Kodak and was a deputy for the Livingston County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of the Oakland Wesleyan Church, Nunda VFW, Former member and President of the Nunda Kiwanis Club and the Keshequa School Board in the 1970's. He was an adopted member of the Seneca Indian Tribe. He was an avid hunter and a proud supporter of the Boy Scouts.


He is survived by his loving wife Linda, 3 children James L. (Leslie) Cromwell of Texas, Victoria (Fred) Martin of Perry and Eric (Lynn) Cromwell of Florida. Granddaughter Kassandra. Brother-in-law Brian (Petra) Clary of Glenmont. 2 nieces Erin Clary and Kira Russom and Nephew Matt Clary.


No prior calling. Memorial Services will be held at the Oakland Wesleyan Church, 1519 Route 436, Nunda on Saturday December 30 at 11 am. Reverend Paul Palmer officiating.
