James Guy Yencer age 81 of  Mount Morris, New York, died peacefully on Thursday October 16, 2025 surrounded by family at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mount Morris, New York.  He was born the son of Robert and Adeline "Toby" (Kanaval) Yencer on November 24, 1943 in Warsaw, New York.  He was a life resident of Mount Morris.  Prior to his retirement in 2000 he worked for the AKZO Noble Salt Mine in Retsof, New York for over 30 years. He was a former member of the United Church of Mount Morris. James loved his family dearly, and his family gatherings meant so much to him. He loved watching Western movies his beloved New York Yankees, NY Giants, and NY Knicks! He loved telling jokes, and had the most contagious laugh. He enjoyed morning tea with the guys, his annual summer family picnics, and dancing to 1950s - 60s music. His scratching of lottery tickets could always bring a smile to his face. Most of all, he was extremely proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his 3 children Tammy (David) DiGioia, Jeremy Yencer and Toby (Bill) Pukas all of Mount Morris.  Grandchildren James & Kayleigh Regatuso,  Joachium DiGioia, Billy and Logan Pukas.  2 Great grandchildren Autumn Rose and Austin James Regatuso.  2 sisters Barbara Beyer of Greece and Ann Gottorff of Rochester.  Several nieces, nephews and dear and loving friends including his wife Patricia.  He was predeceased by his beautiful wife Katherine Walters Yencer in 1981, Father Robert Guy Yencer in 1955, mother Toby Yencer in 2017 and brother Roger Yencer in 2020.

No prior calling.  Graveside services to be held at Mount Morris Cemetery on Tuesday October 28th at 1 pm.  Pastor Jerry Swain officiating.   A Life Celebration will be held on Sunday November 9th from 1 to 4 pm at the Vets Club, 3 Elm  Street, Mount Morris, New York.
