JANET L. POWELL age 92 of Dalton, New York, died peacefully on Wednesday May 20, 2026 at the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mount Morris, New York.  She was born on October 20, 1933 the daughter of Joseph and Ruth (Pratt) Sawyer in Rochester, NY. She enjoyed gardening and maintaining her yard and home, going antiquing with her husband Charles and spending time with her family and friends especially during the summer at the family pool.

She is predeceased by her Husband Charles in 2018 daughter Beth, son David and granddaughter KellyJo. She is survived by 3 sons, James Powell of Oregon, Thomas (Lynne) Powell of Texas, Mark (Deborah) Powell of Florida; 6 daughters, Pamela (Richard) Horan of Dalton, Kathleen (Mark) Mucha of Dalton, Wendy (Kimber) Robinson of North Carolina, Jane Levine of Honeoye Falls, Susan O'Grady of Henrietta, Kelly (Curt) Helf of Dalton. 30 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.
