JESSIE M. CARNEY age 93 formerly of 2923 Main Street, Piffard, NY, died Wednesday May 6, 2015 at Eastside Nursing Home in Warsaw. She was born the daughter of the late Bruce and Edna (Strapp) Halpenny on October 5, 1921 in Lima, NY. She was married to Royson Carney Sr. who predeceased her on March 17,1991. She had been employed at SUNY Geneseo in the Food Service Dept. at the Mary Jamison Dining Hall prior to her retirement.

Jessie enjoyed Crocheting for her family especially for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild, she enjoyed making coverlets, afghans and pillows for all of them.

She is survived by her children; Robert (Linda) Carney of Hickory, NC, Royson (Karen) Carney of Spencertown, NY, Raymond (Janet) Carney of Wyoming, NY and Sandra (Ken) Owen of Penn Yan, NY., 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, a brother; Clifford Halpenny of Tuscarora, 2 sisters; Phyllis Harcleroad of Mt. Morris and Edna Rock of Bloomfield, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call Saturday from 12:00-2:00 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris, immediately followed by a graveside service in Mount Morris Cemetery.
