JOAN LOVE (Essler) ORTON age 76 of 32 Mill Street, Nunda, NY , died Monday February 25, 2013 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was born the daughter of Robert and Mabel (Petrie) Love on October 31, 1936 in Mount Morris, New York. She married Lyle Orton on January 31, 1964. Prior to her retirement in 1995 she was employed as a Secretary for over 13 years at the State University of New York at Geneseo, she also worked as a secretary for Trac-Machinery Corp. (Formerly Piper & Paine) in Nunda for over 20 years. She was a 25 year member of the Untied Methodist Church of Nunda, Nunda VFW Ladies Auxiliary and life member of CSEA.



She is survived by her husband of over 49 years Lyle. 3 daughters Catherine Maggio of Livonia, Carol (Peter) Ames of Dansville and Susan Didas of Nunda. 7 Grandchildren Len LeClair of Conesus, Jason LeClair of Livonia, Sara Maggio of Tampa, FL, Jenelle and Cory Bennett of Dansville, Curtis Bennett of Paauilo, HI, and Amber Didas of Nunda. 1 Great Granddaughter Elsie Marie LeClair. Her sister Nancy (Sidney) Mann of Nunda, Brother-in-law Ken Morris, Sisters-in-law Maryjane Holly Smith, Janice Orton and Gretchen Stonebrook. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear and loving friends. She was predeceased by 3 infant children Marlene Essler in 1956 and twins Rickie and Victoria Essler in 1957, parents Robert and Mable Love, maternal grandparents John and Lulu (Moyer) Petrie and paternal grandparents Robert and Letitia (Forsythe) Love and sister Betty Morris in 2003.
