JOHN W. CRANDALL III age 79 of Dalton, NY, died peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at his home.  He was born to parents John and Ruth (Waggoner) Crandall Jr. on January 6, 1943, in Pulaski, NY.  He served in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1966 and married Anna McCaw on August 26, 1967.  In 1970, he graduated from Houghton College. Prior to his retirement in 2001, he worked as a social worker at the Livingston County Health Related Facility in Mt. Morris.  He was a member of the Trinity Church of Nunda and CSEA.  Baseball was a great passion of John's, having coached Pony League in Nunda for many years.  Watching the New York Yankees, spending time with his family, especially his grandsons, listening to country music and gardening were his other great loves.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 54 years, Ann, daughter Christy (Sam Bean) Crandall-Bean of Nunda, two grandsons Nathanael and Cameron Bean, two brothers Edward (Lois) Crandall of Beaver Dams, NY, and Philip (Lily) Crandall of Hawaii, many nieces, nephews and dear and loving friends as well as his dog Kingston.

No prior calling.  A private service will be held at the Trinity Church of Nunda.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Church of Nunda, PO Box 15, NUNDA, NY 14517 or the Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620.  Arrangements by the JOHN W.
