JOHN L. "JACK" SCHIRMER age 91 of 115 Murray Street, Mount Morris, New York, died Thursday April 24, 2014 at his home. He was born the son of John and Alice (Carpenter) Schirmer on August 11, 1922 in Mt. Morris, NY. He served in the Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946. He married Dorothy Hayes on July 26, 1947. Prior to his retirement in 1987 he was employed as an X-Ray Technician at Craig Developmental Center in Sonyea and at the TB Hospital in Mount Morris for over 40 years. He was a member of the Carlton R. Boise American Legion Post 1007 in Leicester and was a Charter member of the AONDOWANUH Sportsman Club in Cuylerville.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Dorothy. 2 brothers-in-law Thomas (Maryann) Hayes of Greece and Arlie Bennett of Geneseo. Many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear and loving friends.

Friends may call Sunday from 1-4 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris. Funeral services will be held Monday at the First Congregational Church of Perry Center at 11 am. Eric Kelly officiating. Interment with full military honors Leicester Cemetery.
