JOHN L. LUBANSKI age 93 of Mount Morris, New York, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday July 15, 2024 at Teresa House in Geneseo, NY.  He was born the youngest son of Leo and Florence (Strong) Lubanski on February 8, 1931 in Groveland, New York.  He was a true Patriot; a Veteran of the Marine Corp. from 1951 to 1954 during the Korean War (his attempts to change his birth certificate to serve in WWII was unsuccessful).  He met the love of his life Mary Barone at age 15 and married her on June 14, 1952.  Together they had 4 loving daughters Cindy (Sam) Cottone, Lori (Jim) Mulford, Debbie (Mark) Hamby and Jackie (Frank) Pagano, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his parents Leo and Florence Lubanski, brother Joe Lubanski and sister Mary Runfola.

A born counselor & influencer he worked as a history teacher at York Central, a guidance counselor at Perry, Canaseraga and Churchville-Chili Central Schools.  His love of the Lord was evident.  From his Jn 316 license plate, to being a founding member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.  A lifelong athlete, he enjoyed golf (hole-in-one at 80 years), softball, racquetball, baseball (especially the New York Yankees) and basketball.

We will be forever grateful to those who helped us to care for our dad "John's Angels" who cared for him 24/7 at home; Livingston County Hospice, Dr. Jake Tallman and the caring staff & volunteers at the Teresa House.  He was greeted by his Lord & Savior Jesus Christ with the words "Well done, good and faithful servant" Matt 25:23.

Friends may call Saturday July 20 from 2 pm to 3:30 pm at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, Geneseo, NY where services will be held immediately following.  Pastor John Zatkiewicz officiating.  Private Interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 4232 Reservoir Road, Geneseo, NY 14454, Teresa House, 21 Highland Road, Geneseo, NY 14454 or Livingston County Hospice, 2 Murray Hill Drive, Mt.
