JOHN P. MASONIS JR. age 90 of Brown Road, Cuylerville, New York, died Sunday February 21, 2016 at Highland Hospital in Rochester NY. He was born the son of John and Jennie (Longhine) Masonis Sr. on June 20, 1925 in Cuylerville, NY. He was a veteran of the Marines during World War II. Prior to his retirement in 1987 he was employed as an Explosive Expert at AKZO in Retsof for over 39 years. He was a member of St. Thomas-Aquinas Church in Leicester, Carlton Boies American Legion Post #1007, the A-on-Do-Wa-Nuh Sportsman Club in Cuylerville and the Cuylerville Fire Department.

He is survived by his 5 children Nancy (Peter) of Rochester, Judy (Cleve) DeVault of Overland Park, KS, David (Laurel) Masonis of Penfield, Robert (Janice) Masonis of Perry and Michelle Masonis of Nunda. 10 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren. Sister-in-Law Angie Masonis of Mt. Morris. Several nieces, nephews, Cousins and many dear and loving friends. He was predeceased by his first wife Jane Rider Masonis in 1960 and Second wife Helen Bolish Masonis in 2012, Parents John Sr. and Jennie, brother Richard Masonis and sister Mary Welch.

Friends may call Friday from 4 -7 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris where prayers will be said on Saturday at 9:15 am followed by a funeral mass at 10 am at St. Thomas-Aquinas Church, Leicester, NY. Reverend Edward Dillon officiating. Interment with military honors at Leicester Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cuylerville Ambulance or Fire Department.
