JOSEPH ROBERT "Joe Chris" CHRISTIANO age 81 of Tailrace Lane, Mount Morris, died Sunday October 8, 2017 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. He was born the son of Frank and Rose (LaChuisa) on January 23, 1936 in Mount Morris, NY. He was a life resident of Mt. Morris. He was a veteran of the Army during the Korean Conflict from 1955-56. He married Nancy Gilman on September 23, 1957. Prior to his retirement in 1971 he was employed as a Supervisor for Department of Corrections in Attica for over 20 years. He devoted his time to the Community of Mount Morris, especially Bellamy Park ensuring the youth had a place to enjoy. He also served as the Mayor for the Village of Mount Morris as well as Councilman for the Village. He was a member of the Mt. Morris American Legion Post, former member of the Mt. Morris Kiwanis Club. Joe loved spending his time with family and friends, watching his favorite baseball team the St. Louis Cardinals and collecting arrowheads.


He is survived by his loving wife Nancy. 3 children Frank Christiano of Mt. Morris, Guy (Lisa) Christiano of Perry and Kim Wolcik of Mt. Morris. 3 Grandchildren Shane Torrens, Courtney (Timothy) Voos, Gene & Jeremy Hoffman and Jamie Cyr. 3 Great Grandchildren Landon Torrens, Autumn & Madeline Hoffman. 2 sisters Mary Rose Zupparo and Josephine (Leo Sr.) Cichelli both of Leicester. Many Nieces, nephews, cousins and dear and loving friends. He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Rose Christiano and brother Donald Christiano.


Honoring Joe's wishes there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday October 14 at 11 am at Bellamy Park in Mount Morris with military honors. A reception to immediately follow at Mt. Morris Central School. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Mt. Morris Ambulance or Highland Hospital Cancer Center. Arrangements by the JOHN W.
