JOSEPH RICHARD MACALUSO age 68 of 7572 Groveland Station Road, Groveland, NY, passed away suddenly on Tuesday May 21, 2013. He was born the son of the late Joseph and Sarah (Leone) Macaluso on December 1, 1944 in Mount Morris, NY. He graduated from Mount Morris Central School in 1962. He married Carolyn Hinds on June 27, 1964. Prior to his retirement he was employed for over 37 years as a group leader at Lucidol in Piffard. In 1962 he join the Mount Morris Fire Department until transferring to the Groveland Fire Department in 1966 and was a Past Chief of the Department in 1979.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 49 years Carolyn (Hinds) Macaluso. 2 sons James Macaluso of Dansville and David (Bonnie) Macaluso of Canandaigua. 4 sisters Nancy Paddock of Florida, Rita (Kenneth) Levey of Mt. Morris, Josie Santacroce of Retsof and "Chickie" (Walter) Pfuntner of Dansville. Several Nieces and Nephews.

Friends may call at the Grace and Truth Fellowship Church, East Groveland Road (Off of Route 63), Hampton Corners Tuesday May 28 from 2-4 & 5:30-7 pm with a Celebration of Life Service at 7 pm and Wednesday May 29 from 5:30-7 pm where a firemen's service at 7 pm. Inurnment will be determined later at the convenience of the family. In lieu of Flowers. Memorial may be made to the Groveland Fire Department or to your charity of choice.
