JOSEPH J. "JJ" PALERMO age 100 of 29 Grove Street, Mount Morris, New York, died peacefully on Tuesday February 28, 2017 at his home in Mount Morris. He was born the Son of Vincent and Francesca (Mammana) Palermo on October 23, 1916 in Mount Morris, New York. He was a lifelong resident of Mount Morris. He served in the Army from 1940 to 1945 in World War II having served in the 1st Division. He married Josephine Coniglio on November 15, 1958. Prior to his retirement in 1978 he was employed as an Mason at Letchworth State Park for 26 years. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Mount Morris and a former member of the Holy Name Society.


He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Josephine. Son Vincent Joseph Palermo of New Jersey. 1 Granddaughter Valerie (James) Mazars de Mazarin of Virginia. Many nieces, nephews and great nieces and Nephews and many special cousins and friends. Predeceased by his sister Lucy Alessi and brothers Frank, Angelo, Vincent and Anthony Palermo.


Friends may call Friday from 3-6 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris where prayers will be said Saturday at 9:30 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at St. Patrick's Church.
