KATHLEEN "Kathie" A. CLARK age 74, of Sonyea Passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. Born January 22, 1951, in Rochester, NY, Kathie was the daughter of Frank and Mary (Ferge) Berardi. On May 16, 1970, she married Ronald A. Clark, and together they built a life grounded in love, faith, and service.

Before having children, Kathie dedicated herself to ministering in courageous ways. She read and taught the Bible in local jails, offering hope and dignity to those often forgotten by society. She also served as an emergency foster care parent, opening her heart and home to children in crisis. Remarkably, she remained in contact with some of these children for years—continuing to offer support and love even in the final weeks of her life.

Kathie was overjoyed to adopt her two sons, Jeremy and Chris, and motherhood became central to her life. She was actively involved in the Mount Morris school district and community throughout their upbringing—attending school events, volunteering, and building lasting connections.

Professionally, Kathie was a devoted homemaker who cared deeply for her family and those around her. She compassionately cared for an elderly neighbor in their final years, offering comfort and dignity. A passionate advocate for inclusion, she dedicated herself to learning about special needs and special education, even returning to school in her 60s to earn an associate's degree. Kathie also worked as a Community Rehabilitator for Epilepsy-Pralid, Inc. of Rochester, supporting individuals with empathy and respect. More than a career, her life's true calling was to love, uplift, and serve others with steady strength and compassionate grace.

Kathie was deeply involved with Special Olympics, volunteering as a coordinator, coach, and driver. Her work reflected her belief in inclusion, dignity, and the transformative power of sports and community. This cause was close to her heart, and she gave generously to ensure every athlete felt valued.  She welcomed every kind of person—embracing all with warmth, kindness, and acceptance. She was strong in her faith, her convictions, and in the gentle power she carried into every relationship. Whether through a thoughtful word, a handmade gift, or a listening presence, she gave without expecting anything in return.

She especially treasured time with her family, and her greatest joy was being a grandmother. She was deeply involved in her grandsons' lives—attending concerts and recitals, cheering at games, reading books, making crafts, baking, cooking, helping with homework, and simply being present. She drove them to practices, picked them up from school, and created a space where feelings were heard and love was unconditional. She wasn't just a grandmother—she was their greatest champion and safe place.

Kathie was a loving mother, the best grandmother, a devoted sister, and a true humanitarian. Her legacy is one of quiet strength, selfless giving, and unwavering compassion. She will be deeply missed, but her love and example live on in all who knew her.

She is survived by her two sons, Jeremy (Erin Sefca) Clark of Avon and Chris (Mellina Provorse) Clark of Sonyea; her three grandsons: Cameron Milan Clark, Oliver Ronald Clark, and Asher Grayson Clark; her siblings: David (Adriana) Berardi of Florida, Frank (Sue) Berardi of Lakeville, Steve (Nancy) Berardi of Rochester, and Mary Frances "Fran" (Ralph) Shepard of Conesus Lake; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald A. Clark, in 2016.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no prior calling hours.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday September 7th at the South Highbanks Pavilion in Letchworth State Park from 12-4 pm.
