LAURIE J. BOWNDS, age 45 of Geneseo, New York, formerly of Houston, Texas, died Sunday, May 25, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. She was the daughter of Gene and Kathryn (Trubia) Kelly and was preceded in death by her mother. She is survived by her loving children Payton Bownds and Avery Jade, her father Gene Kelly, siblings Brian (Courtney) Kelly and Lindsay Kelly, nieces (Haleigh, Bryce, and Cora) and nephews (Travis and Carter), as well as biological siblings Clint (Tara) Kleas, Chad Kleas, and Phillip (Lacey) Kleas, nephews (Clint Jr. and Jase), and niece (Rylee), along with numerous dear family members and friends.

Laurie, born in Wharton, Texas, spent most of her life in Houston. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Victim Studies from Sam Houston State University. Laurie worked in the dental industry and rehabilitation and recovery services in Texas before accepting a position with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. She made the ordinary extraordinary, danced like nobody was watching, laughed wholeheartedly, and loved celebrating special moments with her family and friends. Laurie adored her children and proudly shared photos and videos of them for everyone to enjoy. She will be deeply missed.

The celebration of life will be held on Saturday June 21 from 1 to 4 pm at the Genesee River Restaurant and Reception Center, 134 North Main Street (Route 36) Mount Morris, NY and Services in Texas are her funeral Mass will be as: Thursday July 17/2025  at 11am at St. Ignatius of  Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, TX 77379.  A Celebration of Life reception will be held on Thursday July 17, from 1 to 4 pm at Augusta Pines Golf Club, 18 Augusta Pines Drive, Spring, TX 77389.  Charitable donations in Laurie's honor may be made to the National Children's Alliance www.nationalchildrensalliance.org/get-involved/ways-to-support-kids .  or the American Lung Association www.lung.org/get-involved/ways-to-give .  Arrangements by the John W.
