Louis R. "Dick" Provino, age 88 of Mt. Morris, died Sunday November 10, 2024 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY after being stricken at home. Dick was born the son of the late Louis S. and Jean A. (Better) Provino on September 30, 1936. He had been employed by Livingston County as a supervisor in the maintenance department at Murray Hill and also oversaw Al Lorenz Park on Murray Hill in Mt. Morris.  Dick was very active in the Village of Mt. Morris.  He served as a Trustee for the Village of Mt. Morris for 8 years and then Mayor of the Village for 14 years. He was was active in the Mt. Morris Fire Dept. for many years.  Early on, he and his father owned and operated the ARCO gas station. He loved playing baseball in high school and bowled in the Monday Night Late League.  He also enjoyed the game of golf along with fishing and hunting.  But most of all, he enjoyed spending time watching his grandchildren's sporting events and concerts.

He was predeceased by his wife, Carol (Trippe) Provino in 1989 and a daughter, Tricia Provino in 1978.  He is survived by a son, Marty (Beth) Provino of Mt. Morris, two grandchildren, Joelle and Ethan Provino, both of Mt. Morris and several cousins.

Friends may call on Friday November 22, 2024 from 4-7 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris.  Funeral Services will be  private and at the convenience of the family.  Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Mt.
