NANCY J. GORDON age 82 of 681 High Street, Victor, New York and formerly of Herkimer, NY and Florida, passed away Saturday April 19, 2014 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, New York. She was born the daughter of Harry N. and Helen L. (Bryant) Mann on April 2, 1932 in Mt. Morris, New York. She married Richard L. "Dick" Gordon on July 4, 1957 to whom she had been married to for 54 years. Nancy was a graduate of SUNY Geneseo, Class of 1953 from which she went on to teach elementary school in the Ilion Central School District for over 30 years. She also helped her husband with bookkeeping for his meat market in Richfield Springs, New York before her retirement in 1989. She was active in Girl Scouts and the Elks Club of Ilion, NY. During her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, quilting, and traveling. Nancy also enjoyed many fun-filled evenings with "The Birthday Club"-a group of fellow teachers and dear friends from Remington Elementary School.

Besides her husband Dick, she was predeceased by a brother John (Jack) Mann, a sister Eloise DiFranco, brothers-in-law Robert (Bob) DiFranco and Chester (Che-Che) Panek and a nephew Jeffrey (Jeff) Mann. She is survived by her four loving children; Debra (Tom) Roskowski of Avon NY, Diana (Kevin) Cort of Clifton Springs NY, Gregory (Debra) Gordon of Virginia Beach, VA and Doreen (Sal) Fiorentino of Urbana, MD. 9 adored grandchildren, 2 sisters; Barbara (Francis) Stanley of Groveland, NY, Virginia (Ronnie) Chasey of Perry NY and a sister-in-law Norie Mann of Geneseo, NY as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends along with her cherished, furry feline companion "Luna". Nancy will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all those whose lives she touched with her wonderful sense of humor and remarkable inner strength.

There will be no calling hours at the family's request. Memorial services will be held at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME' 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris , Tuesday April 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Deacon George Spezzano officiating followed by an "Irish Wake" to celebrate her life. Interment will be held privately at Mt. Morris Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorials be made to Lifetime Care/Hospice of Rochester, 3111 S.
