It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Nicholas J. LoVerde Sr (Nick) age 87 of Mount Morris NY. Nick died peacefully on March 17 2024 after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Francine, five children, eight grandchildren, and was a loving Poppie to two great granddaughters Lucy and Norah Martin whom he loved deeply. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters. He is predeceased by his parents Mariano and Nellie (Palma) LoVerde and one sister.

Living in Mount Morris his entire life, he had a passion for the town and was the town and village historian for 28 years. He had a large collection of Mount Morris memorabilia including old soda, beer, and milk bottles, post cards, and newspapers. Nick enjoyed golfing and played as often as he could. He was a loyal Yankees fan and wanted to call the manager during every game and give his unsolicited advice. He adored his dog, Gioia, his loving companion.

No prior calling.  Funeral Mass to be held at St. Patrick's Church. 46 Stanley Street, Mt. Morris at 10 am on Friday March 22. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Mount Morris Historical Society.  Arrangements by the JOHN W.
