Nina M. LaGeorge

NINA M. LAGEORGE age 94 of Mount Morris, NY, died peacefully on Tuesday September 15, 2026 at St. John’s Home in Rochester, New York. She was born the daughter of Augustine and Giovanna “Jennie” (Catarra) Cichelli on April 28, 1932 in Restof, NY. She was a lifelong resident of Mount Morris. She married Joseph LaGeorge Jr on September 11, 1954. She was the Manager of the Star Market in Geneseo for over 32 years then managed the Meals on Wheels program for another 20 years. Nina’s life centered around her family and the people she loved. She loved cooking and bringing everyone together, especially for Sunday dinners and the family’s big Italian Christmas Eve celebrations, and there was always room for one more at her table. She enjoyed trips to the casino, was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, loved reading, and rarely missed her grandchildren’s sporting events. Nina was warm, generous, quick to laugh and never afraid to speak her mind. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, cared for and, above all, well fed. 

She is survived by her 3 children, Joseph LaGeorge of Mt. Morris, Julie (Mark) Ammermuller of New Jersey and Jean (Michael) Murray of Rochester, 8 grandchildren, Tracy Provino, Ravea LaGeorge, Lyndsey (Jeff) Beaudette, Nicole (Cameron) Fennell, Joseph (Krystal) LaGeorge, Gina (Billy) Hendrickson, Melissa (Matt) Lanza and Michael (Zia) Murray; and ten great-grandchildren, Kayd, Julian, Allison, William, Jacob, Matthew, Kathryn, Gabriella, Brooke and Emerson. Several nieces, nephews and many dear and loving friends. She was predeceased by her Husband Joseph in 2022, her daughter Janet in 1986, daughter-in-law Tamy in 2021, 4 sisters Rita Valente, Nellie Panozzo, Dolly Alessi and Lucy LoVerde and 4 brothers John, Leo, Louis and Alex Cichelli. 

Friends may call Friday September 18 from 4-7 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 10 am at St. Patrick's Church, Mt. Morris, NY. Reverend Daniel White Officiating. Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery.
