Raul Paul Rodriguez age 76 of Buffalo, NY, died Monday November 11, 2024 at the Buffalo VA Medical Center in Buffalo, NY from complications from surgery.  Raul was born April 12, 1948 in Manhattan, NY, the son of the late Jose and Rosa (Molina) Rodriguez.  Raul was a disabled Army Veteran, having served in both the 82nd airborne and the 101st airborne divisions during the Vietnam Conflict.  He was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained in battle.  Along with the Purple Heart, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Parachutist Badge, and the Marksman Badge (M-14).  Raul was a weapons instructor while in the service and in later years was an Assistant Associate Director for the Erie County Police Academy.  Raul was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division Association, A life member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and The Disabled American Veterans, and an Honorary Member of The New York State Sheriffs' Institute. In all of these organizations he took a very active part in for many years.

He is survived by his daughter; Melina (John) Rolison of Mt. Morris, Brother; Michael (Sandy) Rodriguez, Sister; Iris Federico, Sister; Marianne Ator, wife; Barbara (Maggs) Rodriguez and many relatives and friend's. He was beloved by many.

Friends may call on Thursday November 21, 2024 from 4-7pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris.  His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday November 23, 2024 at 1:00pm at St. Patrick's Church, 46 Stanley Street in Mt. Morris.  Interment with full Military Honors will be in Leicester Cemetery, Leicester, NY.  Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans.  Sign the online registry at
