THOMAS J. PASSAMONTE age 93 of Mount Morris, died peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at his home.  He was born the son of Joseph and Frances (Cosimano) Passamonte on February 28, 1926 in Perry, NY.  He graduated from Mount Morris Central School.  He served in the Navy during World War II from 1944-46.  He married Dorothy Hartman on September 16, 1950.  Prior to his retirement in 1981 he was employed as Union Mason for over 30 years.

Tom and Dorothy had a wonderful life together for nearly 69 years.  They enjoyed lovely trips and hobbies together especially raising Brittany Spaniel show dogs.  Along with Dorothy, Tom was an active member of the Geneseo United Methodist Church with special interest and involvement in the Board of Trustees for many years.

Tom loved nature and his birds.  He was an expert on the subject of Bluebirds.  He built countless birdhouses and gave them to many people to provide homes for the increase of Bluebirds in the Western New York area.  He authored articles which were published in magazines about Bluebirds and Purple Martins and he taught local children and adults valuable information about birds.  His love of Purple Martins led him to a meaningful and lasting relationship with Mansfield University in Pennsylvania.  Hunting was another of Tom's passions.  He was an expert hunter, loved being in the woods and taught young hunters the sport of hunting.

He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 69 years Dorothy on June 21, 2019.  He is survived by his sister Marie (Donald) Oberlin, Nephew Austin Passamonte and nieces Cheryl Wellman and Brenda Passamonte and many dear and loving friends. He was also predeceased by his parents and Brother Austin Passamonte.
