Vera Maggio age 86 of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday July 6, 2021 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. Vera was born the daughter of the late Harry and Mabel (Brownell) Johnston Sr. on September 18, 1934 in Wayland, NY.  She had been employed at SUNY Geneseo as a Custodian Supervisor for 18 years and retiring after more than 25 years.  She was a communicant of The St. Luke The Evangelist Parish at St. Patrick's Church in Mt. Morris and was a member of Mt. Morris VFW Auxiliary, the Sonyea American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her husband; Samuel F. Maggio Sr., her children; Samuel (Laurie) Maggio Jr. and Eric (Margaret) Maggio both of Leicester, Jeff (Marie) Maggio of Retsof and David (Sandye) Maggio of Portland, Tenn., her grandchildren; Sam (Gail) Maggio, Jennifer (Eric Harder) Maggio, Kelly Fisher, Eric Maggio, Valarie Bogner, Justin (Nichole) Maggio, Emily Whittmore and Rachel Wainstott.  4 great grandchildren; Luke and Jake Maggio, Addison Harder and Lillian Dale.

Friends may call Thursday from 3-7 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 9:30 am in St. Patrick's Church, in Mt.
