WILLIAM G. KOSCHARA age 84 of 6781 Groveland Station Road, Groveland, died Thursday August 22, 2013 at Nicholas Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville, NY. He was born the son of William and Beryl (Gray) Koschara on October 11, 1928 in Patchogue, Long Island. He married Barbara Shear on September 9, 1950. Prior to his retirement in 1996 he was employed as a Crane and Shovel Operator at the Groveland Correctional Facility and Craig Developmental Center in Sonyea for 20 years. Prior to that he was a teacher at East Islip Central School until 1966. He was a long term student of the Buffalo Adult Education A&P Class, Adult Treasurer for Several years of the Ensign Robert Wilson Chapter of the CAR, Honorary member of the Fingerlakes Soaring Club at the 7 Gully's Airport he owned in Groveland. He was also a member and Elder of the Sparta First Presbyterian Church of Groveland, Groveland Kiwanis Club and past president, AOPA, CSEA, the Republican National Committee, New York State Farm Bureau, the Land Improvement Contractors Association, Adopted Son of the Chief of the Shinnecock Indian Tribe of Long Island and was an Avid Aviation enthusiast.

He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, 5 children Adrian-Cheryl Tremayne of Rochester, Fred Koschara of MA, Stephen D. Koschara of PA, Greg (Kathy) and Nathaniel (Cheryl) Koschara both of Groveland. 7 Grandchildren Debbie, Greg Jr., Will, Justin, Alicia, Travis and Jiordan. 8 Great Grandchildren. 2 brothers John (Sylvia) Koschara of MI and Eugene (Mickey) Koschara of Sloansville. 5 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law Marianne B. Koschara in 2009.

Friends may call Saturday from 1 - 3:30 pm at the JOHN W. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 37 Chapel Street, (Route 408), Mount Morris. Memorial services will be held Saturday at the Sparta First Presbyterian Church in Groveland at 4:30 pm. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellsville.
