William C. D'Angelo

Born the son of Dr. Philip and Gladys (Cole) D'Angelo on May 6, 1964, in Batavia. I attended St. Agnes Catholic School in Avon and graduated from Avon Central School in 1982. I graduated with High Honors from Canton College of Technology in 1984 with an associate's degree in Mortuary Science. I was hired by the John W. Martin Funeral Home in the summer of 1983 to fulfill the college requirement of serving a 6-week field study program. Upon graduating in May of 1984 and passing the National Board, I moved to Mount Morris and started my 1-year residency. In June of 1985, I received my license to Practice Funeral Directing in the State of New York and was hired as the Licensed manager of the Funeral Home in 1985. In June of 2006, I purchased the Funeral Home, and in December of 2009 I bought the Shepard Funeral Home and consolidated it with the John W. Martin Funeral Home.
I have served on several area groups and organizations, which include the Active Hose Company of the Mount Morris Fire Department since 1985, having served as President from 2003 to 2007 and am the current President, Carnival Committee, and Building Committee, and am currently the Secretary/Treasurer of the Mount Morris Fire Department, a member of the Western New York Volunteer Firemen's Association, and was the General Chairman of the Western New York 2012 Convention in Mount Morris and former Convention Committee member for Western New York Volunteer Firemen's Association. Current President of the Mount Morris Partners for Progress and Advisory Board Member for Letchworth Gateway Villages, Past President 4 times and Secretary 2 times of the Mount Morris Rotary Club from 1985 to 1996. Former member of the Mt. Morris Zoning Board of Appeals for nearly 20 years. Member of the Rochester Genesee Valley Funeral Directors Association, having served on the Board of Directors from 2000-2002, New York State Funeral Directors Association, and the Livingston County Funeral Directors Association. Board member of the Finger Lakes Crematory in Livonia and St. Patrick's Cemetery in Mount Morris. Member of the Livingston County Chamber of Commerce and having taught Jr. Achievement at Livonia and York Central Schools.
I married Lisa Bauer of Leicester in 1994, and we have 2 children: Emily Katherine, who is attending James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and William Joseph, who is a Senior at York Central School and will be attending Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio.
